Hi All, Lee reporting again…
Well, it had to happen to the Lucrative Racing Trust sooner or later, I suppose – the Loss Vampire finally paid us a visit this week and had the cheek to sink its teeth into our profits.
Fortunately, the blood-sucking rascal only had a little nibble, so this particular betting patient isn’t in need of a fund transfusion just yet. Mind you, I’ve changed my Betfair username to ‘garlicbreath’ just in case he thinks of making another unwelcome appearance. (I was going to chuck some holy water on my computer, but decided that instant electrocution wasn’t the best way to finish off the trial.)
As you can see from the results below, we lost £50.50 this week.
This was solely due to a red-hot favourite turning out to be about as hot as the inhabitants of a perforated tent in Siberia. To be honest, I’m no fan of selections which skirt the 1.15 cut-off price. Not only is it psychologically difficult to lump 10-13% of your total bank on one selection, but they’re the ones which do the most damage when they lose. However, context is everything with such long-term strategies: the fact that we’re still over £300 in profit after just five weeks (despite one big loser) should tell you all you need to know about sticking with the plan.
One last point. I’ve checked my results for December with those on the Lucrative Racing Trust website…
I’ve tried where possible (as advised) to take the price as soon as I’ve received the daily email containing the selections. There are a number of discrepancies between our prices (mine are usually worse), which will inevitably mean that when losses do occur, it will lower my profit margin in comparison with their proofed results. This shouldn’t make a massive difference in the long-term providing the strike-rate remains high. However, I’ll be keeping my beady eye on it nonetheless.
There’s also a small issue with liquidity, which I’ll focus on next week.
