Sadler System, 2/10/11 – 8/10/11 & TRIAL CONCLUSION

Posted by on October 2, 2011

Well this week, we have the almost unprecedented luxury of no fewer than four Sadler meetings as follows:

05/10/11 Ludlow
06/10/11 Exeter
06/10/11 Worcester
07/10/11 Newton Abbott

We do need a big week as the system continues to slide, with the balance currently at minus £119.68.

I think I deserve a medal for persevering with Sadler, but persevere we will….

I’ll post selections later in the week once race cards are available.

And we have a selection in the 3.10 @ Ludlow today – Sea Wall. If this one comes home, our fortunes would be transformed at a stroke, as it is currently @ 15 at Stan James, and in my view likely to drift.

Which pretty much sums up the intoxicating appeal of backing systems… always jus’ one good win away from glory!

I like Sea Wall, for at least a place. Do you back e.w. or win only? Good Luck Sadler

Win only – that’s the way the system works.

I haven’t actually backed all the Sadler selections, which is jus’ as well! but I got 18.5 on BF for Sea Wall so had a flutter.

Guess I’m jus’ in a fluttery mood today:) The sun’s shining. It’s a lady thing!

Well Sea Wall went off at a BSP of 30, but was the last horse to finish! Note to self – ignore fluttery feelings on sunny mornings!!!

New balance – minus £129.68. Two meetings on Thursday though so who knows….??

Glory be, we have a selection today as well, with Western Pride running in the 3.00 at Worcester.

We may have a further selection in the wonderfully named ILFRACOMBE FOOD SERVICE HANDICAP CHASE at 3.20 at Exeter, however it’s hard to tell at this stage…

Western Pride came nowhere unfortunately, and was the only bet of the day.

Well apologies from me for not getting today’s selections on to the site in time today, and as luck would have it, there were two at Newton Abbott. They both lost, however I have to count them for system test terms -

    - 2.55 Dean’s Grange (finished 2nd)
    - 4.40 Skipper’s Lad (finished 4th)

Which takes us to a new low of minus £159.68. What a dismal run!

Yes I know what you mean!

I am a big believer in elongated test runs. But Sadler has really tried my patience…

I can stand it no longer – it’s going in the ‘Failed Systems’ category. I’ve been testing it for almost four months (the first selection was on 14th June), and yet Sadler has shown me very little to get excited about. Selections haven’t just missed out; they’ve often come way down the field. And that’s when I’ve had selections: too many meetings have yielded too few bets — which in itself is a pain, as it involves a lot of wasted effort.

This week we’ve actually had four selections, but that really is unprecedented. I intended to see it through till Christmas – but I can see no reason really why I should persist. It says it all that the next Sadler meeting isn’t until 18/10/11 at Exeter…. this is barely a workable system, more a curiosity.

I THEREFORE HEREBY CLOSE DOWN THE SADLER TRIAL :-( Yes – sorry Sadler – it’s into the ‘Failed’ file you go….
